Newport City Martial Arts

A rebrand that packed a punch, but was grounded in values of pride, teamwork and belonging. Colour was the champion here.
Orange hues were inspired by Zen Buddhism and drew on the symbolism of the orange belt itself: growing strength, plus the
colour’s psychology of warmth, social, welcoming and happiness. For the black and white scheme, it was always going to be the
influence of the yin-yang symbol.

The silhouette represented dojo owner, Master Everton Smith (6th Dan black belt Karate Master and ex world champion). I’m still
walking, so safe to say he liked it.

Beauty salon

With both cosmetic and clinical procedures offered at the salon, it was essential for the brand look and feel to strike an eye-catching balance between precision and warmth. Typographic illustrations were constructed from quotes by a star-studded cast, with blue and purple hues being key to the blend. The result was a head-turner in every sense.

The brief was to create a sub-brand of Kokoso Baby, including logo and packaging, ensuring the new hand sanitiser was true to the parent brand but could stand on its own two feet.
I built on the same playful typeface, simple colourways and
easy-to-understand illustrations.

A big brand with big trucks was just the beginning of my collaboration with FSEW. Reliability, speed
and trust were the foundations of their values. Values which I matched in my approach to the project.

Land, air or sea, this worldwide haulage brand continues to deliver.

Archytas
Financial Investment Company

As wealth managers, Archytas knew a thing or two about numbers. They loved formulas too, so
Pythagoras and the triangular form became a starting point from which to develop the brand identity –
with clear Greek influences carried through in the art direction.

Add to that the laurel wreath, a lead typeface that nodded to Roman inscriptions and a clean, corporate
palette, and Archytas was transformed into a brand that was right on the money (and fit for the Greek
Gods).

Celebrant Service

A brand for a well-respected celebrant, Janet Celia — a trusted wordsmith and brilliant speaker who delivers services for births, weddings and funerals. This called for a consistent visual direction that showed empathy and understanding for each offering, leading with a soft blanched image of a layered white peony alongside classic typography.

Compassionate, considered design. It’s all part of the service.

The brief here was more ‘brand than Bond’. A new creative platform that would resonate with everyday
people who might just have the skills to find that ‘something more’ with a career in Intelligence.

The messaging was inspiring. The art direction was smart, clean and *checks no one is looking* award-
winning.

A start-up close to both my heart and my stomach. Behind the business is the cheery mother/daughter
